After a couple-friendly Cornwall retreat? The Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa is just up your alley. It’s got romance-inducing ocean views, sophisticated interiors and a serene spa. The best bit? The whole place is adults-only, so there’s not a screaming toddler in sight. The whole place is perched above Fistral Beach, 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Newquay and a short stroll from the sands.

The rooms all ooze coastal chic, and they come with comfy Hypnos beds, GAIA toiletries and free spa entry as standard. But you can also upgrade to even fancier rooms with a sea view, a private balcony or suites that come with your very own private hot tub – depending how extra you’re feeling.

Facilities-wise, the restaurant and bar both make the most of the oceanfront setting with huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Dune’s been awarded two AA Rosettes for its locally inspired menu. You can tuck into Cornish fish soup, pan-fried stone bass and ray wing. Meanwhile, the Bay Bar serves coffee and brunch, as well as afternoon tea and cocktails.

This luxury country house hotel is on the North Cornish coast in the village of Mithian, just 2 miles from St Agnes. It has a seasonal outdoor pool (weather permitting) and free WiFi.

The tasteful rooms are fitted with individually controlled central heating, a TV and radio. They also feature tea and coffee making facilities, and some rooms have garden views.

The restaurant has bay windows and a menu using local produce. A full English breakfast is available in the morning.

The impressive leisure facilities include a brand new Aqua Club which includes 6 outdoor and indoor pools (open all year round). The spa includes a Cornish salt steam room, a Swedish sauna, a hot tub, and experience showers. Treatments by Elemis, Voya and OPI can be booked in the state-of-the-art ash wood panelled rooms or work out in the fully equipped Life Fitness gym.

There are three restaurants, and the hotel has been awarded an AA rosette. Guests can enjoy the best of Cornish coastal produce in the restaurant RenMor. Perched on a rugged headland, this hotel is just a 20-minute walk from Newquay Railway Station. Free on-site parking is available, and Newquay Golf Club is a 5-minute walk away. The surf school also offers coasteering, stand-up paddleboarding and private surfing lessons.

The Headland is dog-friendly and up to two dogs can stay in each bedroom per nights. Regrettably, we are not able to accommodate any other pets.

Our bedroom capacities are limited to maximum of 2 people. 1 adult and 1 child (12 and under) can travel together. Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling is also available as a dining option but is operated separately from the Headland.

The Valley is a tranquil, 13 acre, private gated site in the centre of Cornwall, with woodlands and dog friendly trails surrounding the site. This holiday cottage resort offers the best of both, with the peace and quiet of staying in the countryside, however just 10 minutes to the closest beach.
